i know i haven't posted in a while.its been a v difficult year.2010 has been sooooo deep.i was looking forward to starting a life with my beautiful daughter Iman.unfortunated she had problems with her heart which led to her passing so ive been feeling down and out.ive had a lot of time to grieve and ive decided to be thankful for little time i had with her and she will always be in my heart and memory.love u Iman. u r the most beautiful little person i've ever known xxx

last week i made a very rash descision to sell some of my clothes, those that know me will know that it couldnt have been an easy descision coz i sure LOVE my vintage finds.but it is time to make some changes and let go off some things....., it actually wasn't as bad as i thought, i actually might have enjoyed it.thanks to lamela for making all my swingickets and signage and helping me out on the day :) i'm definately gonna do this again.watcp this space...

Lulu is a lady from Cape Town thats has the most amazing collection of vintage dresses, shoes, bags, belts that you have ever seen. She has a stall on Church street where she sells he clothing. Lulu says that she also has 'Vintage vintage' as she calls it which is vintage that is so rare that she she does not sell it but hires it out.Lulu has recently started making bags from from old leather pants and skirts under the label 'Lieve Lulu' which means love Lulu.She loves the concept of recycling and that inspited her to make her bags.We had lots of fun taking pictures of her bags.

'the graduate shows' took place at the Runway on Wednesday, it was a collab between three fashion institutions(CPUT,DAF and CTCF) and it was great!apparently its gonna take place every year and retailers are gonna be invited to source talent.what great idea!

beautiful illustrations by Nadia Lemmer.She was showing her work at the headspace exhibition at CPUT.She recently showcased her work in Toronto at Loreal Fasion Week where students from around the world were chosed to to show their work during the LG Fashion fusion. shes a really awesome girl and so much fun.she was telling us all about her trip to Toronto and handing out cupcakes to people that were coming to see her stand.(awesome stand by the way)Nadia told us about how she wants to make clothes for the fuller figure woman.shes working on perfecting her block.shes a visionary and shes definately gonna make it happen.

everywhere i look at the moment seems designers are inspired by africa.this can be seen from fashion to interior design to architecture etc etc.even i will admit i feel more african than ever these days.theres something exciting about being in our beautiful continent.just the other day i was ´doin my thang´checking out one of my fav blogs http://blacknerdsnetwork.blogspot.com/ and turns out they just opened up a new shop in london in portobello rd called constructive lives.the amazing thing about this shop is that it has a ndebele inspired tile disign all over the outside walls.i find that really amazing AFRICA I THE MIDDLE OF LONDON!im not sure if they were aware that the print looks ndebele,maybe they just got Got by the zeitgeist,love it!

yesterday a junk email ended up in my inbox from somewhere talking about a launch party somewhere and as i read through it,turns out it really was about junk,good junk though, i discovered as i looked at the pictures.´from somewhere´is a clothing label from the uk which uses fashion industry junk to produce new beautiful vintage inspired clothing.the garments are made up of off cuts and damaged fabricks but the most beautiful pieces are a result of this junk.its a really inspiring label with a great story,each garment being unique to the next.(it kinda reminds me of our very own s.a.label darkie when they did recycled clothing.)
